Banks has declared her respect for the teen drag queens set to appear in the discovery+ series.

Anti-LGBTQ+ Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has accused Tyra Banks of "grooming" due to her involvement with the upcoming series Generation Drag, a reality series about teen drag performers. A trailer for the series was released by discovery+ last week, and Boebert took exception, sharing her feelings on Twitter.

Retweeting a post from the anti-LGBTQ+ account of Chaya Raichik (aka "Libs of TikTok''), Bobert captioned her tweet "Siri, define grooming," in keeping with the right's current -- deeply cynical and homophobic -- midterm strategy of equating anything LGBTQ-related to grooming and pedophilia.

Grooming is a predatory process of gaining the trust of a potential victim, usually a child, before sexually abusing them.

The show, set to premiere on Paramount+ June 1, depicts the lives of five teenage drag performers participating in the drag show Dragutante. It focuses on the challenges it presents in their families, and the courage it takes to truly be yourself.

While Republicans like Boebert have made clear their disdain for queer children due to their support of a slew of laws targeting LGBTQ+ youth being passed around the country, executive producer Tyra Banks has "admiration and respect" for the teens participating in the show.

"I have such admiration and respect for these teens. They are bravely navigating coming into their own in a world that can be very challenging and not always accepting. What is so beautiful is seeing their parents and siblings supporting them," Banks said in a news release for the show. "These teens' laser-focused tenacity inspires my team and me and we are honored to share their stories. I can't wait for these popping personalities to show their fierceness to the world."

Generation Drag premieres on discovery+ June 1. Watch the trailer for the series below.
