Video of a young trans man's friends gifting him with enough money to legally change his name has gone viral.

A Texas-based trans man got the surprise of his life when his friends not only gathered to sing "Happy Birthday" to him for his 18th birthday but gifted him with money they raised to help with the cost of legally changing his name. Now the TikTok video of the student, Andrew, has gone viral.

"Since you're a legal adult, we raised enough money for you to change your name," one of Andrew's friends says in the video while presenting him with what looks like a certificate.

The big surprise had been in the works for more than a month, Andrew told Pink News.

"All my teachers and fellow students have been so supportive of me ever since I came out," he said.
