Celebrating and Remembering the Disappearing Lesbian Bar 

During their prime, lesbian bars served as safe, women-only spaces where you could dance, play pool, openly check out women and, more importantly, feel safe. These are just 10 of the many, many bars that were our second homes, gathering places, community resources, and more -- before being shuttered. Pour one out for them tonight.

While there is plenty to mourn over the disappearance of lesbian spaces, there are still some strongholds of lesbian bars around the country that play host to primarily queer women. Here are a few of the last great remaining lesbians bars in the United States.
