9. FILM: The Hunger Games
Lesbian icon potential is clear in Winter's Bone's gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence, who surpasses expectations as resourceful heroine Katniss Everdeen in this immensely entertaining adaptation of the first book in Suzanne Collins's popular trilogy. Dedicated gay-straight alliance advocate Josh Hutcherson (above), already a fave due to his turn in The Kids Are All Right, should also anticipate adding legions of new admirers for his performance as love-struck Peeta.

8. DVD: Eating Out: The Open Weekend/Jitters
John Waters vet Mink Stole, Gun Hill Road's Harmony Santana, and a bevy of horny twinks help make The Open Weekend, the fifth installment in director Allan Brocka's Eating Out series of sex comedies, perhaps the raunchiest yet. Fans of the torrid British version of the TV drama Skins will enjoy Jitters, a gay-themed Icelandic coming-of-age tale based on a popular series of novels.
