Mike White enrolls in School of Rock
Variety reports that out writer Mike White (Chuck & Buck, The Good Girl) will go into production in November on his screenplay School of Rock, which will reteam him with Jack Black, who costarred in the White-penned Orange County. Rock deals with a rock musician who makes waves when he becomes a substitute teacher in an uptight private school. In addition to his film work, Black is a member of the mock-cock rock combo Tenacious D. The film will be produced by openly gay producer Scott Rudin; no director has been set for School of Rock, but White will direct the next film he writes for Rudin as part of their deal.
