Rupert Everett featured in two upcoming comedies
Poster boy for the openly gay, actor Rupert Everett will be appearing in two upcoming comedies, according to Variety. One, South Kensington, is an Italian film in which Everett will play a member of the British aristocracy forced to take in boarders at his upscale residence due to the his father's squandering of the family fortune. Everetts character will be the link between the tangled stories of love and friendship involving young Italians and other Europeans living in London for work or study. The second film is the upcoming adaptation of Oscar Wildes The Importance of Being Earnest. Oliver Parker will be directing this tale of mistaken identities and misplaced luggage. The film is the first to be shot under the Ealing Studios banner since 1957. Ealing Studios was known for its classic English comedies such as Passport to Pimlico and Kind Hearts and Coronets, the latter of which featured the bisexual Alec Guinness in a variety of roles.
