English pop duo the Pet Shop Boys announced that they will headline Moscow's Live 8 concert in Red Square on July 2, BBC News reported Tuesday. The Pet Shop Boys, who will be accompanied by a few other popular Russian bands in Moscow, are just one on the list of queer-friendly performers set to join the Live 8 stages. In addition to New York-based Scissor Sisters, who are confirmed to perform at London's Live 8 concert, Sir Elton John will grace the stage in Dublin on Saturday. It was also reported that two giant screens will be erected at the Moscow venue to screen John's performance at his show in Dublin. The concerts, which coincide with the G8 summit of world leaders, will occur all over the globe, beginning in Tokyo and finishing in Philadelphia.
