Entertainer Sandra Bernhard recently released a single celebrating the joys of the holidays titled "Miracle of Lights." The song can be heard on Breaking Records artist compilation Breaking for the Holidays, the label's first holiday album.
"Miracle of Lights" is a tribute to the lights on the Hanukkah menorah. Bernhard describes the candles as a symbol. "The lights from the candles of Hanukkah remind us that anything can happen if we put aside our limitations, fears, or negativity--peace, humanity, and love can all come from this place, and that is what the miracle is truly about," Bernhard said in a press release.
The album also includes songs by Chaka Khan performing "Do You Hear What I Hear?" and a cover of Joni Mitchell's "River" by Ben Jelen. Also included on Breaking for the Holidays are two contestants from American Idol: Jon Peter Lewis singing "California Christmas" and Vonzell Solomon singing "It's Gonna Be a Cold, Cold Christmas."
