Los Angeles-based Film Independent has received a two-year endowment from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to develop films about science and technology. Film Independent's first Sloan grant recipient--to be selected this fall--will receive admission to the organization's Producers Lab, a $25,000 development grant, and support from Film Independent for the next year. The deadline for applications is August 28.
