Disco legend Gloria Gaynor, the singer of "I Will Survive," a de facto gay anthem celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is scheduled to perform during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
Gaynor appeared once previously in the parade, which she recalls fondly, according to the New York Post.
"This will be Gaynor's second appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade," the Post reported. "Her first, she told us, 'was a long, long time ago. I think it was 1978. I was on the Doodlebug. It's probably not even around anymore. I'll never forget it, it was a great experience.'"
This year Gaynor expects to be on a float surrounded by children. The parade is broadcast on NBC on Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern.
