A British gay rights group is calling for a public apology from the BBC after presenters on one of the channel's television shows disparaged actress Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson.
Ronson was included in the British program The Most Annoying People of 2008 -- coming in 43 out of 100 celebrities. When discussing Ronson -- an American DJ -- and girlfriend Lohan, presenters on the show referred to them as "munters and mingers."
BBC Radio 5 Live presenter DJ Spoony said of lesbians, "Let the munters and mingers get each other. That's cool. No one really wants them ones."
Porn actor Ron Jeremy mentioned having a threesome with the couple and ejaculating on them.
Peter Tatchell of Outrage! -- a British gay rights group -- called the remarks misogynistic and homophobic. "The BBC should have never broadcast [the comments]," Tatchell said. "The upcoming repeat should bleep out their stupid, bigoted remarks. A public apology is due from the BBC." (Neal Broverman, Advocate.com)
