Students at a Massachusetts high school are speaking out on behalf of their English teacher following an investigative report by a local Fox news station that exposed his purported porn past.
The story, which first aired Tuesday on WFXT, showed reporter Mike Beaudet ambushing Kevin Hogan in a parking lot and confronting him about his alleged appearance in three gay porn movies.
After the report ran, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School placed the teacher on paid leave as it looked into the investigation's claims.
Beaudet then took to Twitter to gauge the reaction from Hogan's students. "Would love to know what you and other students think of him," he tweeted to a female student.
"I think you blew this story way out of proportion and single handedly destroyed a man's life," the student replied.
Another student wrote: "Hogan is the best thing that has happened to my crew team. Students now have more respect for him due to what you did #thanks"
"Reporters are so fucking annoying," tweeted yet another.
One male student wrote what is perhaps the most succinct message from the group: "My English teacher is a gay pornstar #nbd"
There is reportedly a petition floating around Mystic Valley showing support for Hogan, who only began teaching at the school in September.
After watching the initial report, one viewer wrote a letter to WFXT, which was read on-air Wednesday morning. "I just saw your story on Kevin Hogan and found it to be in very bad taste," the viewer said. "If he loses his job, someone at Fox should lose their job or better yet support him going forward."
