American Horror Story: 1984 Queers the Slasher Movie in New Trailer

Billie Lourde and Emma Roberts

Who will be the Final Girl?

A recurring trope of the horror movie genre is that sexual transgressors are the first to die, while the chaste characters typically make it out alive. And the first teaser for American Horror Story: 1984 leans into the slasher movie genre as it opens with a female couple in flagrante delicto as the killer appears to catch them in the act.

The scene cuts to the '80s in full swing with Ryan Murphy favorites Billie Lourd, Emma Roberts, and Cody Fern decked out in spandex in an aerobics class before they head off to work at a summer camp where there may be an escaped madman called Mr. Jingles on the loose.

Another Murphy alumna, Leslie Grossman, appears to hold an administrative position at the camp, while Pose's Angelica Ross plays the camp nurse in a benchmark role that she tweeted about when her casting was first announced.

Gay Olympian Gus Kenworthy and Glee'sMatthew Morrison also costar.
