Sundance short outs Ernie and Bert
FoxNews.com reports that a satirical short film premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, Peter Spears's Ernest & Bertram, presents Sesame Street icons Ernie and Bert as a gay couple. The movie doesn't use actual puppets but instead features actors wearing Bert and Ernie costumes and huge Muppet heads. The film features tabloids outing the couple, the twosome discussing their feelings for each other, and a reference to Miss Piggy as a "fag hag." No word yet on whether the Children's Television Network, which owns Sesame Street, plans legal action.
