Rick Santorum is being called in to help fight marriage equality in Washington.
The Family Policy Institute of Washington announced that the former presidential candidate will be featured at two fundraising events in October.
"As a member of the United States Senate Santorum has argued forcefully against policies that undermine the family and weaken America's economic competitiveness," FPIW announced. "And now he comes to Washington to help our fight for marriage, life, and religious freedom."
Santorum actually dropped by the state during his campaign on the very day that marriage equality was signed into law by Gov. Christine Gregoire in February. He was met with protestors who interrupted a rally in Tacoma. Voters will decide in November whether to uphold the law.
The former Pennsylvania senator will also show up again when he speaks at the Republican National Convention at the end of the month, having earned one of the coveted speaking spots. The RNC hasn't announced which time slot he has earned.
