CBS drama Judging Amy to address HIV on March 22
The CBS drama Judging Amy will have a storyline focusing on HIV during its Tuesday, March 22, episode. The program will focus on a 15-year-old foster child who tests positive for HIV. After learning that the girl is HIV-positive, social worker Maxine (Tyne Daly) introduces her to a 34-year-old HIV-positive mother who contracted the virus when she was 17. The mom, who runs a support group at a hospital, teaches the girl that with proper medical care and support she can live a full life with the disease. The episode was produced as part of media giant Viacom's ongoing "Know HIV/AIDS" campaign, which includes original HIV-themed programming in shows appearing on Viacom-owned networks and cable TV channels. Judging Amy airs at 10 p.m. Eastern/Pacific, 9 p.m. Central, Tuesdays on CBS.
