With the help of her lesbian lover, a woman in eastern China allegedly drugged her husband and then buried him alive in his own home to stop him from interfering in their relationship, state media said Sunday. The two women, Wang Lanying and Mou Hongxiu, from Jiangsu province have been arrested in what is being considered the first reported murder case motivated by a lesbian relationship in China, according to the Beijing News and Agence France-Presse. Wang's relationship with her husband, Gu Peihua, a bricklayer who works most of the year in nearby Shanghai City, had steadily deteriorated since he learned of her affair with Mou, a divorced fruit stand vendor, neighbors and police were quoted as saying. The two women detested Gu for opposing their relationship. When Gu fell ill, they mixed sleeping pills with his medicine and fed it to him, causing him to fall asleep, the report said. The women then buried him alive in a room in Wang and Gu's home and paved over the burial plot with cement. Neighbors alerted the police when they noticed the home's doors and windows were sealed up. Police later unearthed the body.
