A newly created Australian blog, 100 Revs, comprising Christian ministers and pastors, has issued an apology to LGBT people.
The apology, which can be found online at 100revs.blogspot.com/search/label/apology, states, "As ministers of various churches and denominations we recognize that the churches we belong to, and the church in general, have not been places of welcome for GLBT people. For these things we apologize."
A group of ministers also plans to march in the Sydney Mardi Gras parade in efforts to show greater support of the community.
Anthony Venn-Brown, a former evangelist in the Assemblies of God, said in a statement, "Thank you for standing with us and welcome to our world," in reference to the fact that a majority of the ministers who sign the petition may become the focus of much religious backlash. (The Advocate)
