"Mama Grizzly" Sarah Palin roared to the defense of Dr. Laura Schlessinger, who announced she would retire from her radio show after dropping a racist rant last week.

Palin may face an uphill battle with her appeals. Schlessinger appeared on Larry King Live on CNN Tuesday and announced that she plans to leave her program when her contract expires at the end of the year.
