Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones talked to Michigan assistant attorney general Andrew Shirvell about his Chris Armstrong Watch blog and his harassment of the gay University of Michigan student body president.
The 30-year-old Shirvell posts regular updates on the blog maligning Armstrong, calling him things including "gay Nazi," "privileged pervert," and host of a gay orgy. But Shirvell appeared on The Daily Show in the capacity of a victim.
Shirvell claims to have had electrocution, water-boarding, and prison time wished on him since he launched his blog in late April. He says the outrage and negative responses he's received in recent weeks ought to qualify him as a victim of cyberbullying.
"How can you seek protection from crazy people?" Shirvell asked.
