Former Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan is still suing Marc Cherry, the gay creator of that show, but she has dropped her claims of physical and emotional abuse.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sheridan dropped her claim of "intentional infliction of emotional distress and [she] agree[d] she won't assert any claim for emotional or physical damages." In exchange, the star won't have to submit to a physical or mental examination, which ABC -- which airs Desperate Housewives -- wanted her to do.
While the suit will continue, the stakes are now lower -- Sheridan initially slapped Cherry, ABC, and Touchstone Television with a $20 million lawsuit. She initially claimed that Cherry "forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head" before firing her from the show, but then she later said it was more like a "light tap."
