Revered Football Hall of Famer Warren Moon said he played with gay teammates during his 17 years in the NFL.
"I know of a couple of players who I won't mention their names because they have not made it public yet," Moon said in May on the Victor and Matt Sports Podcast. "It really doesn't bother me what your sexual preference is as long as you don't bring in your sexual preferences to the locker room. I think that should be for homosexuals and heterosexuals. That's a personal part of your life you should deal with in that way. As long as you're coming to the football team and bringing a positive influence, that's all that matters to me."
Outsports reports that one of the teammates Moon may have been referencing was Ernest Givens, who played with Moon in the 1990s on the Houston Oilers. Givens was the subject of gay rumors, though he had denied them to ESPN in 1998.
