Actor Sean Maher, who publicly came out as a gay man last month, will appear in an upcoming film directed by Joss Whedon that will reunite him with Firefly costar Nathan Fillion.
The project appears to be an adaptation of Shakespeare's romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing. The independently financed film was shot under much secrecy and little is known besides an announcement today saying that filming has completed and listing the full cast, which also includes out actor Tom Lenk.
Maher was starring in NBC's The Playboy Club as a closeted gay man when he announced that he is gay and a father of two children. On "Spirit Day" last Thursday Maher Tweeted a photo of himself wearing a purple shirt he says he borrowed from Whedon.
