Navy lieutenant Gary Ross and his husband, Dan Swezey, are likely to shake things up Friday evening when they attend a Marine Corps Ball at Arizona's Fort Huachuca.
When Ross purchased tickets for the event, a Marine asked if he was bringing his wife. He responded by saying, "No. I am bringing my husband." Ross and Swezey have been together for 12 years -- on September 20 in Vermont they became the first same-sex military couple to legally marry.
