Volver reunites the director with Carmen Maura.
Gay filmmaker Pedro Almodovar will premiere his new film, Volver, in Spain in March, reports Expatica.com. The film, which reunites the director with Carmen Maura--who starred in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and many of his early hits--deals with a woman's return from the afterlife and with the culture of death in rural Spain. Following the Oscar-winning Talk to Her and the critical smash Bad Education, Volver marks Almodovar's return to working with a principally female cast; the film costars Penelope Cruz, Lola Duenas, and Blanca Portillo. Volver is set to open in the United States this summer. (Advocate.com)
