As part of The Advocate's 40th anniversary, we asked some outstanding young LGBT people to give us a glimpse into their lives. Here are two standouts, and their stories.
Eighteen-year-old Kha Trinh is an Atlanta boy currently studying history at Indiana's Notre Dame University. Kha was rewarded for his scholastic ability by the Point Foundation, a non-profit that provides scholarships to marginalized LGBT students. See Kha Trinh's gallery >>
Vanessa Fuentes, 22, immigrated to America from Mexico. It was arduous journey; she went by foot across the border with only an apple, an orange, and a gallon of water. After eventually landing in New York City, Vanessa worked hard to better herself. She now attends New York University and is an vocal advocate for queer youth. See Vanessa Fuentes's gallery >>
