Antioch University, in the Los angeles suburb of Culver City, presents "Early Gay Presses, 1977-1995," with a reading by award-winning author Felice Picano to kick off the exhibit. The show includes more than 100 pieces of cover art, ads, page proofs, book interiors, and historic photographs as well as contracts, correspondence, and other business aspects of publishing at the time.
Picano will read from his new work, Art and Sex in Greenwich Village. The reading is scheduled for 7 p.m. on November 14. Admission is free.
A fund-raiser to raise matching funds for the $20,000 grant given to the Sandra Golvin LGBT Studies Scholarship will take place prior to the public opening on November 14. Individuals donating a minimum of $50 can take part in a special personal tour of the exhibit by the artist beginning at 5 p.m.
