The Zuna Institute's National Black Lesbian Conference began Thursday in Las Vegas.

The theme of the fourth annual conference, "Time to Be Renewed," is meant to represent Zuna's commitment to community service and activism.

"This is a critical time," according to the Reverend Yvette Flunder, a featured speaker at the conference. "It is imperative that powerful women come together and strengthen each other in the struggle."

With participants from more than 60 cities and 30 states, this year's conference will provide attendees with opportunities for leadership skill-building, spiritual growth, and professional networking. (The Advocate)
