The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed a case against a Catholic group that filed suit against San Francisco for passing a resolution condemning their ban on adoptions by same-sex couples.

While the case was dismissed on constitutional grounds, a majority of judges ruled that the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights had standing to sue against the resolution. The court's contradictory findings may entice the Supreme Court to take up the case, reports Law.com.
