The National Center for Lesbian Rights has launched the Family Protection Project, which will focus on improving access to family law services for low-income LGBT parent families.
The Family Protection Project will work to provide specialized training and materials to legal services programs in California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin in order to improve existing legal services for impoverished LGBT families, the center announced in a press release.
The project will help low-income LGBT parents understand their rights and protect their relationships with their children. The center is also reaching out specifically to people of color and to the few organizations willing to provide free representation for low-income LGBT families.
