Georgia's supreme court ruled unanimously Monday in favor of a transgender politican accused by her rivals of misleading voters by running as a woman.

Michelle Bruce won a Riverdale city council seat in 2003. However, when she ran for reelection in 2007, she lost her seat after Georgia Fuller and Stan Harris, two of her opponents, sued the city of Riverdale, saying Bruce misled voters by identifying herself as female.

The Georgia high court determined that Fuller and Harris failed to produce evidence of fraud, misconduct, or illegality. (The Advocate)
