20 Percent ID as Republican, Lowest in Decades

Only 20% of Americans say they identify themselves as Republicans, according to an ABC/Washington Post poll.
The figure is the lowest in 26 years, according to the poll. Additionally, only 19% of poll takers said they trust Republicans to make the "right decision for the future." Even among Republicans, only 40% are confident in their own party.
In an early look at the 2010 midterm congressional election, 51% of voters say they are more likely to vote for Democrats, over 39% who would vote Republican.
