Denmark Considers Gay Wedding Ceremonies

The Danish government is launching a proposal to allow gay weddings in the state Lutheran church, the Associated Press reports.

In a country where 69% of citizens support marriage rights, government officials are planning to allow full ceremonies instead of shorter blessing ceremonies currently practiced. An exemption would remain for clergy opposed to same-sex marriages who are unwilling to perform such ceremonies, however.
