Lewis Hamilton has asked to be forgiven for a "lapse in judgement."
The Formula One world champion sparked an outcry on Christmas, for gender policing his 4-year-old nephew in a video that streamed to millions of followers.
"I'm so sad right now. Look at my nephew," the 32-year-old British racing driver told the camera, before turning it to his young relative, who was wearing a dress and holding a wand.
"Why are you wearing a princess dress? Is this what you got for Christmas?" he asked in the Instagram video, before yelling, "Boys don't wear princess dresses!"
The act sparked outrage on social media, with several accusing Hamilton of "toxic masculinity."
In response, Hamilton deleted the video from his account, and posted an apology on Twitter Tuesday.
