Saturday Night Livedelivered a hilarious spoof of Republican presidential aspirants and the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, which will take place May 21-23 in Oklahoma City, with a special skewering of Ben Carson for antigay comments he made earlier this year
Instead of just the usual game of dress-up cast members play when making fun of a politician, the show took its comedy one step further by comparing the way the GOP is trying to "keep up with the times" by portraying the conference in a loud, club-like environment.
"Put this guy in prison, because he's going to steal your vote!" a DJ (played by Cecily Strong) yells to the crowd as Ben Carson (played by Kenan Thompson) dances onto the stage. "But watch out, because if sexuality works out the way he says it does, he might turn gay in there!" Strong says -- a reference to Carson's notorious remark that prison proves being gay is a choice.
