The Fox News Channel has faced backlash for its reporting on Aretha Franklin's death. The news outlet reported Franklin's death Thursday using a photo of Patti LaBelle. Fans called out the mistake on Twitter. Fox News has since issued an apology. "We sincerely apologize to Aretha Franklin's family and friends. Our intention was to honor the icon using a secondary image of her performing with Patti LaBelle in the full screen graphic, but the image of Ms. Franklin was obscured in that process, which we deeply regret," said Fox News vice president Jessica Santostefano.
