An Oregon man has been sentenced to six months in jail for attacking a neighbor over an unwelcome tree trimming.
The Oregonianreports that Robert Maurice Bosket, 50, pleaded guilty last week to first-degree burglary and strangulation. Other charges, including the use of antigay slurs, were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Bosket was reportedly upset because his neighbor, David Christensen, cut back some trees that shaded his deck. After knocking on Christensen's door, according to police, Bosket forced his way into the house and began strangling his 49-year-old neighbor.
Bosket was also ordered to keep his distance from Christensen as well as pay fines and restitution totaling almost $5,000, the paper reports.
