Police in Pittsburgh, Pa., say the third suspect in the videotaped assault of Brandon White in Atlanta is now in custody.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Darael Damare Williams turned himself in to authorities around 10:30 Thursday morning in Erie, Pa.
Williams is the third suspect, believed to be a part of Atlanta’s Pittsburgh Jack City gang, who police say ambushed White as he left a corner grocery store February 4, punching and kicking him while yelling “no faggots in Jack City.”
FBI agents in Pittsburgh, Pa., believe the 17-year-old Williams left Atlanta to seeking refuge with relatives in Pennsylvania. Authorities say he is now being held on $250,000 bond at the Erie County Prison and will be extradited back to Atlanta, possibly next week.
A $25,000 reward was offered by Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed for information leading to the arrests of the three men whose assault of White was captured on video and posted on the internet.
